The Institute for Development Oriented Studies (IDOS) was founded in 1986. From 1986 till 1992 the institute focused mainly on consultancy jobs which required knowledge of social research practices.

IDOS is the leading player in the field of market and opinion research in Suriname and wants to keep that position.

  • Coca Cola Ltd

  • Nesle

  • Telesur

  • D3 Systems

  • Occasionally for several local companies such as: Para Springs, Mitra nv., BHP Billiton, DSB-Bank, Fernandes Bakkerij, Assuria,               

  • Democracy Unit of the University of Suriname, State Health Insurance, De Ware Tijd, CHM (Ceteco group 1994-2000), the Brazilian Embassy in    Suriname, Iamgold, Digicel.

IDOS also works as a sub-contractor for CID Gallup, Kantar TNS and others research companies in the Caribbean and is a member of the ESOMAR community.
